I don't care for the look of the skin (face) and it just seems flat overall. Next is Capture NX's default black and white conversion using Fliter >īlack and White Conversion. Now, DxO with "DxO Lighting" set to Slight, sharpening at 250. Next up is Capture NX's default D-Lighting setting and some sharpening - 55, 5, 2. Maybe it would be more acceptable to me if this were a landscape shot. DXO OPTICS PRO 3.5 SPEED AND WORKFLOW 2/4 that image noise reduction and elimination of lens softness produce the best possible results when used simultaneously. Notice how DxO darkens the tree and other things (too much for my liking) and makes the skin look white'ish. Next is the same photo, converted to JPG by DxO, no corrections. Never mind the subject of the photo, focus, white balance, composition, etc - this was just a snapshot at a family event.įirst is a RAW conversion to JPG from Capture NX, no corrections, just conversion. I'm inserting some examples of a photo I converted from both programs. I've been learning DxO Optics (newest version) and Capture NX clearly wins (in my opinion) the RAW conversion test.
